Sound card must be compatible with the expansion slot. The sound card can be installed in PCI or PCI Express slot. Most sound cards support multi-channel surround sound (i.e. 5.1, 7.1). Some sound cards include an internal audio connector for optical drives so that users connect their optical drive directly through MPC2 cable and listen to the CD/DVD while pluggin their headphone to audio jack on the optical drives.
Follow these steps for sound card installation:
- Align the sound card to the appropriate expansion slot on the motherboard.
- Press down gently on the sound card until the card is fully seated.
- Secure the sound card to the case with the appropriate screw.
